Dr. Ed Grubaugh is a native of the Lansing area. He grew up on a farm just north of DeWitt and attended St. Johns Public Schools. His desire to become an orthodontist was inspired by his orthodontic treatment at age 12. Dr. Grubaugh began his journey by majoring in chemistry at Michigan State University for his college years. After only three years at MSU, he was accepted to the School of Dentistry at The University of Michigan.
In dental school, Dr. Grubaugh graduated in the top of his class and was elected into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Grubaugh continued his tour of the Big Ten Schools by attending Ohio State University to specialize in orthodontics while receiving a Master’s of Science in Oral Biology Degree. Dr. Grubaugh, a sports fan, wishes success to the athletic programs at all of the universities he attended, however his loyalty will always be to Michigan State University.
Dr. Grubaugh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (Only 1/3 of all orthodontists are Board Certified). His research interests include digital orthodontic imaging and how technology can make orthodontic treatment more efficient. Some of his research was recently published in a leading orthodontic journal. In addition to his full time practice here, Dr. Grubaugh teaches at Ohio State University in the Department of Orthodontics as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
