Yep, that’s right…We proudly offer same day braces! If treatment is indicated, we can get you started the same day as your initial exam appointment. We know your time is valuable and strive to make the process as easy and quick as possible!

Dr. Grubaugh is excited to offer our patients The Damon System of braces. The Damon System is a scientifically proven approach to orthodontic treatment. Each bracket is “self-ligating”, meaning that it has a built-in door that holds the wire passively to the bracket. Additional attachments (ligature ties, elastic rubber o-ties) are not needed to hold the wire which decreases friction (therefore, less force required) to overcome when moving teeth. This allows us to use light, more biologically compatible forces which minimizes the need for extractions of permanent teeth, headgear, and high force palatal expanders (RPE). Damon smiles are fuller, more natural and are achieved with lighter forces specifically designed to improve the overall result for each patient.
Damon braces are very precise and effective. With this system, we can reduce the need for many of the time-consuming and complicated procedures that are used with traditional braces.
Because Damon braces work more efficiently, fewer adjustments are required. As a result, your appointments will be faster and fewer in number.
Due to the unique design of this system, we can move your teeth into their correct positions with less discomfort than traditional braces. Also, Damon braces are small, comfortable, and easy to keep clean.
Both children and adults can benefit from the Damon System. Children will benefit from a more pleasing smile as they enter adulthood. The System is very exciting for us and for the adult population, especially because more adults are seeking orthodontic care now more than ever. The Damon System is able to provide our adults with a more dynamic smile and youthful look.

Damon has specifically designed a bracket for those patients who desire Damon treatment with the less noticeable brackets. These brackets are manufactured from a crystalline material which is clear, durable and comfortable…and they also don’t stain with food or beverages! Great for adolescents and adults.

Like a fingerprint, your smile is unique – and so is Insignia Custom Smile Design, a computerized system that combines digital treatment planning with custom brackets and wires tailored to your specific dental anatomy.

Insignia treatment is tailored to the individual in the most optimal way. This means fewer office visits and exceptional comfort throughout treatment. This treatment option is ideal for most cases and patients, whether it’s an adult with a hectic schedule, or a teen who wants to be in and out of braces as quickly as possible.

Utilizing Insignia’s proprietary 3-D software, Dr. Grubaugh can show you your end result before you even start treatment! You’re able to view, with precision accuracy, the curvature and width of the best smile specifically proportioned to your facial features. Unlike off-the-shelf braces and wires, a treatment plan developed with Insignia creates a layer of meticulous detail that provides fast, accurate, and predictable results.

Invisalign is an aesthetic alternative to braces that is virtually undetectable to others. A series of clear removable aligners are used to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. The aligners are custom made using Dr. Grubaugh’s expertise and 3-D computer virtual imaging technology.
Dr. Grubaugh uses advanced computer technology to translate these instructions into a sequence of finely calibrated Invisalign aligners. You will usually wear each aligner for about two weeks and take out for eating, brushing, and flossing. There are no food restrictions like braces! As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will move gradually, week by week, until they move into the final alignment prescribed by Dr. Grubaugh. Then you will have the beautiful smile you have always dreamed of!

Early evaluation provides both timely detection of problems and greater opportunity for more effective treatment management. Early intervention can guide growth and development, preventing serious problems later. If not necessary, an orthodontist can carefully monitor development to begin treatment when it is ideal.
Early treatment is also known as interceptive treatment or Phase I treatment. Some of the most direct results of interceptive treatment are: creating room for crowded erupting teeth, creating facial symmetry through influencing jaw growth, reducing the risk of trauma of protruding front teeth, preserving space for teeth that are coming in, and reducing the need for tooth removal. Phase II treatment occurs when all of the permanent teeth erupt and usually involves a full set of braces.
No, only certain bites benefit from early intervention. In most instances, it is best to wait until ages 9-12 before starting orthodontics. Dr. Grubaugh will diagnose and consider the individual needs of each patient, in order to determine the optimal time to begin treatment.

Dr. Grubaugh offers AcceleDent. With this technology patients use a mouthpiece – fitted around their existing orthodontics – and use an Activator for 20 minutes every day. The AcceleDent can speed up tooth movement by its small vibrations, or micropulses, allowing for faster tooth movement. Faster tooth movement decreases your time in treatment and can even help to make your orthodontics more comfortable.
Surgical orthodontics is a combined treatment by Dr. Grubaugh and an oral surgeon to correct severe jaw and facial abnormalities. Dr. Grubaugh aligns the teeth in the jawbone, then the oral surgeon positions the jaws into a more normal position to allow the bite to come together ideally. This procedure results in the improved ability to chew, speak, and breathe.
Dr. Grubaugh embraces the latest in orthodontic technologies to reduce the overall need for surgical orthodontics, however it can still be an option in those severe bite problems.

Impression scanners are the latest in digital dentistry and are the standard of care at Grubaugh Orthodontics. One of our assistants slides the scanner across your teeth to create a highly accurate and precise 3D digital model of your teeth. What’s so great about that? Well now there is no more need for gooey and gaggy impressions.
What is really awesome is that Dr. Grubaugh can use your digital impression to simulate your final orthodontic result, even before you begin treatment!
