He majored in Chemistry at Michigan State University. After earning his Bachelors’ degree in only three years, he was accepted in the University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry, where he would go on to graduate at the top of his class. He earned his Master’s of Science in Oral Biology while specializing in orthodontics at The Ohio State University. Dr. Grubaugh is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (Only one-third of all orthodontists are board certified). His research interests include digital orthodontic imaging and how technology can make orthodontic treatment more efficient. A leading orthodontic journal recently published some of his research. In addition to his full-time practice, Dr. Grubaugh teaches at The Ohio State University’s Department of Orthodontics as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Made of a comfortable, virtually invisible plastic material, Invisalign aligners are switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. They must be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment to be effective. Invisalign tends to be most effective when used to correct common orthodontic issues, although it may not be suitable for all cases.
