Simple steps to a beautiful smile
Together, we’ll make sure your treatment is as smooth as possible. Here is how we get started at our Lansing office or DeWitt office:
- Your First Visit: We start with a free consultation to look at the conditions we treat and see if Invisalign treatment is the right fit for you.
- Digital Scanning: We use our iTero™ scanner to take a quick, 3D picture of your teeth. No messy putty or uncomfortable impressions here.
- Your Custom Plan: Dr. Grubaugh uses those images to map out every movement of your teeth. You’ll even get to see a preview of what your smile will look like when we’re finished.
Wearing Your Aligners: You’ll wear each set of trays for about 22 hours a day, moving to a new set every week or two. Most of our friends finish their journey in about 9 to 15 months.

How does it work?
Instead of using metal brackets, we use a series of clear, smooth plastic trays. These trays are custom-made just for you to gently nudge your teeth into the right place. Because they’re clear, most people won't even notice you're wearing them. You can just keep on smiling while our orthodontic technology does the hard work behind the scenes.
Life without limits
Since your Invisalign aligners are removable, you don’t have to change the way you eat or clean your teeth. You can still enjoy popcorn at the movies or your favorite sticky treats — just take your aligners out first. Brushing and flossing stay easy-peasy because there are no wires to work around.

We have been at Grubaugh for a year and a half now, and they have been amazing! Brought both of my twins there to be evaluated. One of them needed braces with a herbst appliance. The other will need braces down the road, but not yet. I really appreciate their honesty in not doing things that aren't actually necessary! With the trivia questions, guessing games with prizes, and the coins they can earn towards gift cards, Dr. Grubaugh and his team really make going to the orthodontist something to look forward to! We even got to enjoy a private showing of Wicked 2 in the theater this past fall for their patient appreciation weekend! Will be bringing my other kids here for sure. And I even wound up coming here myself for Invisalign and have had a great experience myself!
Grubaugh Orthodontics was a great experience for our family. My son had to get Invisalign to correct an overbite. Using the app to take scans was so convenient! I didn’t have to take off work or pull my son out of school to come into appointments very frequently. We were able to scan everything and get feedback that way!
